The B Place that Fox ate

Post by John T Mainer on Fri Aug 17, 2012 9:22 pm

Hail,
Some of you are fellow Bnet alumni, and still dip in the pool occassionally. I got asked by LeahOne to pop into the Discuss Islam thread (not a hangout for the average Asatruar), and look at the Anit-Semitism thread. The moderator was asking for an exemption for Arabs from being called on anti-semetic words or actions. The moderator was both the OP and the moderator, both arguing one side and acting as referee.

I have seen some wierd questionable sh^te on the Christian forums, but it seems they have let all the fundamentalist hounds off leash at once.

Is it just me, or is letting the extremists moderate discussions on extremism somewhat questionable?

Yes, well when the fox is the one telling the chickens it has their best interest at heart, and is therefore the most suitable to be guarding the hen house, only the very stupid chickens wouldn't be checking out alternative accomodations.

The site is, for all intents and purpose a lost cause. Obstenance seems to be my only motivation.

I've been re-reading the yellow boards of late. I miss the yellow boards.

Its a weird world we live in where a Jew looks to an Asatru and Witch to keep peace between two warring sons of Abraham. In the house of the third of the Abrahamatic faiths, why is it that Pagans are keeping the peace, while the hosts are peeing on it?

Having said that, viewed from the proper perspective, that a Jew would turn to an Asatru and Witch with the expectation of support in keeping the peace says volumes about the worth of multi-faith boards, and fighting the good fight.

Very Happy I have to admit, I got the same message from her, and I went and looked, but the whole thing was so far out of my worldview, I flat out didn't know what to say. Glad you guys could lend a hand! Smile

JohnT was much more help then I was. I just sort of stood there giving moral support. He came up with wonderful arguments.

It is interesting though. I am glad she felt she could trust us (her friends on multifaith) to stand with her.
