Hello everybody[smile]!

Post by Southern Hick on Mon Jul 11, 2011 10:49 pm

Greetings! I hope that this message finds you all in good health and high spirits[?].
Character Deavon Reye introduced me to this site after my expulsion from a Christian chat forum I was attending with him[for trying to promote real scientific evidences and critical thinking skills against the nonsense their "champion liar for the cause", a character called "Asyncritus", was filling up the science threads with. Apparently they either don't know or don't care that real science isn't the same thing as Christian Apologetics.], and after reading through a few of the threads here I became rather taken by the forum. I was thinking, "Wow, they are spiritual, accepting of others, AND rational and educated?! How can I refuse!?"[grin]. So I've happily been "lurking" here for weeks now, but finally decided to join in on the conversations. I hope that we all have a long and interesting relationship together, and please feel free to ask me anything at all[but be warned, I am dreadfully honest, although I do try to be polite about it as best as I can.].
Respectfully yours,
John Thomas Hall[a.k.a."Southern Hick"].

Jackass here.

Welcome Southern Hick.

If you've been lurking for a few weeks, you probably recognize me. I beat on the people who come in and act like they know it all. I'm known as Bear here.

The more I learn, the more I know I don't know. I just like pointing out to others what they don't know they don't know yet. Does that make me petty? Evil Grin

Good afternoon[smile]!
Petty? Ummmm...........
I guess not, as so long as everyone else around of good moral character agrees that the individual deserves it, or if it helps a discussion progress.

Ah, but how does one go about determining who has good moral character or not?

Well, SG, there are certain standards that I think most can agree on as "moral", but, you do make a good point. There are far more that one may deem moral and another would not see it as so.
Bottom line, most of us don't feel the need to decide if what someone else does/says is moral or not. Most of the time..there are times that we'll speak out, but usually, not so much.
