Why don't you do that first? Are you desperately seeking attention perhaps?

Actually, now that I've thought about it, this might be a fun thread!

I am desperately seeking the approval of the Muse of Writing - would that be Calliope? NaNoWriMo is coming up soon and I don't have any ideas this year.

LOL

Thanks for my joke of the day, "mystery".

Someone who came here apparently seeking approval for his/her ranting, and has fallen so hard on their face that they must have broken their nose, accuses others who don't share that um "thought" process of "seeking approval"?

Funny stuff.

I'm desperately seeking a pumpkin. My wife wants one for decoration. I think there is a stand on the highway that sells them for a dollar though. Get ready for wish fulfillment!

I'm desperately seeking a white oxford shirt that doesn't need a lot of ironing. You would not believe what the stores want for them - starting at $60! I thought that was high. My son in law says that he pays $70-80 for shirts though. I guess prices have just gone up. A lot.

Holy crap! That is a lot. Have you tried Kohl's? I want to say the last time I bought one is was 30 or so, but that was when I was in school and we had to dress up for clinic. Almost 10 years ago.

Try Land's End, Gilly. You'll probably pay $40 for a long sleeved one, but 3/4 or shorter sleeve white oxford-style shirts run in the mid-$20's to $30's.

Land's End women's oxford shirt sample page

Great no-iron capability. I still wear a couple that I bought 20 years ago.

Although, my best buy ever was an LL Bean chamois shirt I got for 50 cents at a church rummage sale. Twenty-five years later, it's showing some beginning baldness at cuff edges and collar tips, but that's all. It's still my stalwart for cool weather hiking.

I swear both Land's End and Bean's stuff wears half of forever if not forever

I paid $60 for Scott's Stafford shirts... One for you would be a little cheaper, because his is considerably bigger than yours would be. LOL
Buy a man's Stafford or Enro shirt. They are WONDERFUL.

Stafford men's shirts are great shirts. That's what we usually buy for my hubby, too.

However, if I want a decent-looking dressy shirt, I have to go with Land's End or Bean since theirs have darts mid-torso. I like my shirts more fitted than men's shirts are. Someone who doesn't mind a straight up-and-down cut would probably do well with a man's dress shirt, though.

I don't care for the darts. I am long waisted and the darts aren't in the right spot. LOL Too high or too low.
The men's shirts I have are actually shirts that Scott's company ordered for him and they were sent wrong... He needs Long/Tall lengths, not XL. XL is just rounder, Tall is longer. So, the shirts I have go almost to my knees. LOL
I usually sleep in them. Or wear them as a light jacket... He orders all his shirts long sleeved because he thinks he looks stupid in short sleeved shirt with a tie.

I'm gonna agree with him. I think people do look stupid in short sleeves and a tie.

The problem I have is that I have a 58" shoulder, and a 38" waist. I can't seem to find a factory shirt that I can tuck in without folding it. I'll usually stick to polos because of that.

As ya'll may or may not know, I am the ANTI-fashion, so you can take what I say with a grain of salt. However, I think men look stupid in short sleeves and ties. You have to wrestle me into a tie to begin with, but if you're going to dress formal like that, it looks really 'ignunt' to have short sleeves on with it.

TED...Scott LOVES to dress up like that. That's why he got out of factory and into healthcare administration. He loves wearing a suit and tie. And he looks very good in it because he's comfortable with it.
Which is a good thing, cuz I love a man in a suit or dress uniform. LOL

LoL! I had to wear a tie yesterday (yearly inspection). I'm the guy who avoids being seen in places I'd have to wear something dressy. I always wear a way-too-big polo and black slacks.

When my husband has to dress up, I am the one who has to tie his tie. Unfortunately, while I did learn to tie a tie, I never learned to do it backwards. So I usually end up tying it properly around my neck, loosening it, and then he pulls it over his own head. It's the only way I can figure out to do it until he learns on his own.

Desperately seeking the odd sock goblin. As we now have over a hundred odd socks, we are willing to open negotiations for exchange at favorable rates to secure even a small number of pairs.

What do you say, I'll give three to one for intact socks that make pairs?

Something I've been desperately seeking for years would be a winning lottery ticket.

Of course, I hear that if you want to win, you do have to buy a ticket now and then.

Funny how it works that way... Whistling

My default answer would be "Susan", or alternatively (for the otaku out there) Xian Pu.

I do rather enjoy it when people post "at you", with no intention of actually having a conversation.

I really don't mind the pot stirrers who are harmless and after a little fun. Sometimes I end of liking them. The ones who are creepy or crazy though are a different story.

I'm desperately seeking a hay bale to put in my front yard with mums and pumpkins on top. I keep asking for one, but so far no luck! I wonder what I could bribe the hubby with so he'll finally go get me one?

Oh, and John, we'll take all those single socks......having a one-legged hubby does have one or two advantages!!! LOL

Hmmm...hadn't thought that Beribee's hubby could really use those "lone ranger" socks. Sure does put the odd sock problem in a different perspective, huh?

I read hubby the above posts and he laughed and wanted me to point out that packages of socks last him twice as long! LOL I have to tell you, looking at what you do have vs. what you don't have makes life so much more pleasant!!! (Though I STILL don't have a haybale!! (sigh!) LOL)
